Breathing before movement — does the order actually matter?
Every video I follow starts with a few minutes of breathing, then moves. On the mornings when I skip straight to movement I feel fine, sometimes better.
So: is the breathing first a real physiological thing, or is it mostly a way of getting your attention into the room? Genuinely curious, not trying to argue with anyone.

Same experience. What I notice is that breathing first makes me choose gentler shapes, and breathing last makes me notice how hard I went. Both are useful information.

That is a lovely way to put it. I might alternate on purpose for a couple of weeks and see what I learn.

For me it is mostly attention. On a rushed morning I move first and breathe at the end — it still works, it just feels like a different practice. The one thing I would not skip is slowing the exhale at some point.
